FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to some of the frequently asked questions about Lucid Vitamins

1. Why do humans need vitamins and minerals?

To live happily ever after…? That’s a start, we guess! Vitamins and minerals not only protect humans from various diseases, but can help us successfully heal from them when they occur. Countless studies have proven the importance of vitamins and minerals to support healthy human functioning and prevent various imbalances and diseases. Vitamins are organic substances with diversechemical structures that are essential for the human body’s metabolism. Minerals, however, are inorganic. They are divided into two categories: major minerals and trace elements. Vitamins are simple chemical compounds that are easily synthesized. Synthetic vitamins are noted to not differ in structure and pharmacological properties from the vitamins that are present in whole foods, though they do interact differently with each other in a whole food form. Government-approved food fortification mandates have proven to be beneficial in the fight against malnutrition (the vitamins used are synthetic). Vitamins regulate biochemical and physiological processes in human bodies by activating enzymatic reactions. The vitamins need to be supplemented from outside sources either because they are not synthesized in the body (like vitamin C) or because the amounts synthesized are insufficient (like vitamin B12 or vitamin K). The nutrients that cannot be manufactured by your body are called “essential nutrients.” The main source of essential nutrients (vitamins, minerals, and amino acids) is nutrient-rich food, which is not sufficiently represented in many people’s diets. There are several reasons for this: the overall decline in a fruit and vegetable nutrient composition due to poor soil condition, modern farming practices, harvesting techniques, inadequate storage, improper cooking methods, and many more. Also, medically prescribed drugs (oral contraceptives, aspirin, laxatives, etc.) can reduce the amount of vitamins and minerals digested from food. Vegans, vegetarians, pregnant and breast-feeding women, smokers, and women approaching menopause may have additional nutritional requirements. Therefore, although Compatible Nutraceuticals Inc. advocates a healthy lifestyle and a balanced diet, we believe that these are not enough to provide optimal nutritional support to modern humans. The vast majority of people will find supplemental vitamins and minerals beneficial to their health (we suggest that you contact your healthcare practitioner prior to starting any supplement course). There are hundreds of supplements out there, but LUCID by Compatible Nutraceuticals Inc. is the first line of its kind with a patent-pending scientific approach to interactions between vitamins and minerals. This approach has created a new category for the nutraceutical industry called Compatible Supplements. Learn more about LUCID today and make a healthy decision!

2. Do I need vitamin and mineral supplementation?

Most likely, you do. Please check this list of people who form the risk group for vitamin and mineral deficiency and make your own decision:

  • People under physical and emotional stress
  • People who do not eat a healthy and a balanced diet on a daily basis
  • Processed-food lovers
  • Vegans and vegetarians
  • Women of childbearing age
  • Smokers
  • People on low-fat diets
  • People on long-term restrictive weight-loss diets
  • People on restrictive diets due to health issues
  • Those who drink alcohol above the safe amount
  • Those recovering from serious illnesses or surgeries
  • People with malabsorption issues (IBS, celiac disease, Crohn’s disease, HIV/AIDS, etc.)

According to a 2010 study by the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention, less than a third of U.S. adults consumed two or more servings of fruits a day (including fruit juices), and barely a quarter consumed three or more servings of vegetables that are considered nutrient-rich food. This was far from the goals of the government’s Healthy People 2010 initiative, which aimed for at least 75 percent of us to eat that many fruits and half of us to eat that many vegetables. That means that even the most conscientious American eater does not consistently meet the dietary guidelines jointly issued and updated by the Departments of Agriculture and Health and Human Services (http://www.mypyramid.gov/; http://www.cnpp.usda.gov/dietaryguidelines.htm). At Compatible Nutraceuticals Inc., we believe that just about everyone needs proper supplements. However, it is very important that you contact your healthcare practitioner prior to starting a supplement regimen. For more information, please refer to the answer to question #1, “Why do humans need vitamins and minerals?”

3. What does compatibility mean?

Compatibility means an ability to work together in harmony, in many cases with a synergetic effect. In LUCID, the ability of vitamins and minerals to form positive interactions, to enhance each other’s absorption, and to prevent each other from oxidizing is what we call compatibility. For example, vitamin A, vitamin C, vitamin E, and selenium are fully compatible elements that form an extraordinary antioxidant complex. Vitamin C and vitamin A are good friends of iron because they enhance its absorption. Other pairs of compatible elements are vitamin B6 and magnesium (where vitamin B6 helps to absorb magnesium and retain it in cells), and calcium and vitamin D3 (this pair should seem familiar to you). Incompatibility, in contrast, means negative interactions like the ones we can see between zinc and folic acid (vitamin B9), as zinc has a deleterious effect on the transportation of vitamin B9. This negative interaction can be crucial for pregnant and lactating women who need extra supplementation with folic acid. Another example of incompatibility is vitamin B12, which is demolished under the influence of vitamin C, iron, copper and vitamin B1 (vegans and vegetarians, beware), which is why they must be taken separately. Calcium and iron also compete for absorption and should not be taken together, nor should calcium be combined with magnesium and zinc. If you are allergic to vitamin B1 and take it together with vitamin B12 as a part of your B-vitamin complex or a multivitamin, be ready for more severe manifestations of your allergy, as they are also incompatible. When in doubt, consult the LUCID interaction chart. Please go to the Science section at www.LUCIDvitamins.com to find essential information such as vitamin and mineral guides, and our interaction chart to describe the relationship of compatibility between essential nutrients.

4. What makes LUCID different from other products on the market?

LUCID is not just different, LUCID is completely unique.

LUCID is the first compatible supplement line in the United States of America and represents a new generation of supplements in which scientific research has been combined with outstanding blister packaging that helps to protect the product inside. When you buy a one-pill supplement, chances are you are wasting your money. Most contain incompatible vitamins and minerals that will be lost when taken together and may cause allergic reactions. In addition, one-pill supplements are likely to lose much of their efficacy during storage. LUCID saves you money by separately packaging ingredients that should be taken separately. LUCID makes vitamin and mineral supplementation more successful without requiring extremely large doses. Compatibility allows all the components of each pill to work in harmony and synergy, bringing you the maximum value. Now, vitamins and minerals don’t have to “fight” for absorption—in LUCID they work from the start. And your body now doesn’t have to “fight” to excrete excessive amounts (no orange urine any more). LUCID supplements contain the most bioavailable forms of minerals and vitamins in each tablet. Now you don’t have to pay for a useless powder. Check the label: we use Krebs selenium, many chelates, tocopheryl and mixed tocopherols, and many others to bring you the maximum value you deserve. LUCID thinks about your health. That is why we use iron in the form of Ferronyl®, having taken into consideration that many people are concerned about possible intoxication. Moreover, we use a stomach-friendly form of Vitamin C – calcium ascorbate – that suits everyone, including people with acidity problems. Other vitamins are presented in the forms that reduce the risk of allergic reaction. LUCID is easy to use. Itcomes in a blister form that is light and can be taken with you wherever you go. All the blisters are transparent, which allows you to control your daily regimen. Every day’s supply consists of 3 tablets of 3 different bright colors (the coloring used is safe for your health). Each tablet should be taken with food in any order you like. Furthermore, LUCID supplements can be easily swallowed thanks to their relatively small size. By now you know that NOT all the products, vitamins, and minerals on the market are compatible. LUCID products have only compatible ingredients in each tablet. We are happy that more and more people are learning the truth about supplemental compatibility and choose LUCID.

5. What does LUCID do and how will it benefit me?

LUCID works as a very efficient vitamin and mineral complex (VMC). Like many other VMCs that you can find on the shelves, it contains a range of different vitamins and minerals. However, LUCID has a significant difference: it is the first vitamin and mineral complex available in the USA where positive and negative interactions between the ingredients are taken into account based on scientific research. If you go to the Science section of our website you will learn that not all vitamins and minerals are compatible. Compatibility is the key to success in LUCID. Compatibility of ingredients allows for full absorption. If the supplements are taken as recommended, you will get several benefits out of LUCID, such as:

  • Increased efficiency of vitamin and mineral supplementation, because the Ingredients of each pill don’t compete for absorption and your body will get all of them
  • Decreased risk of allergic reactions
  • Maximum absorption of minerals due to their form (chelates, Krebs)
  • Stomach-friendly vitamin C
  • Safe iron
  • Innovative blisters that are easy to use and to travel with
  • Saved money because your body gets 100% of what you have paid for

Please note that it is very important for you to contact your healthcare practitioner prior to starting a supplement regimen. To learn more about what vitamins and minerals do for you, please refer to question #1 in this section, “Why do humans need vitamins and minerals?”

6. How does LUCID make use of scientific research and development (R&D)?

Our scientists worked for many months to create LUCID, reading hundreds of scientific articles from many countries to glean essential information about compatibility itself and pairs of compatible and incompatible vitamins and minerals in particular. Based on the research results a comprehensive compatibility chart was created; this chart can be found in the Science section at www.LUCIDvitamins.com. Compatible Nutraceuticals Inc. did not invent the concept of compatibility; however, we did combine scientific achievements and research in our LUCID formulas and pave the way to a new category of supplements called Compatible Nutraceuticals. With your support Compatible Nutraceuticals Inc. will continue its research and development to suit the ever-evolving needs of our diverse consumers. Please join us www.LUCIDvitamins.com to get the most recent updates in the world of science, health, and nutrition.

7. How critical is it to take three different pills of LUCID three times a day? Can I take all three at once?

Compatible Nutraceuticals Inc. strongly recommends that you take the 3 different pills a day separately with food in any order you like as a part of your daily regimen, with 4 to 6 hours between pills for optimal absorption and maximum results. This rule relates to all LUCID products. The time gap between the consumption of the pills will allow all the ingredients of each pill to be absorbed fully and properly, avoiding any unwanted interaction between incompatible ingredients that might lead to decreased efficiency. It is not that difficult to take a pill with your breakfast, lunch, and dinner, especially when you have your LUCID blister with you. If you want to take 3 pills at once, you can do so; however, you should be aware that you will negate many of the benefits of the LUCID approach. The efficiency of your vitamin and mineral supplementation will be significantly decreased and allergic reaction may occur among sensitive people. Compatible Nutraceuticals Inc. advocates a disciplined regimen and reminds you that you create your own success. We offer easy to understand step-by-step information in our product inserts and on our website.

8. How long should I wait before taking the next pill?

You should wait 4 to 6 hours before taking the next pill of any LUCID productstoallow all the ingredients of each pill to be absorbed fully and properly, avoiding any unwanted interaction between incompatible ingredients that might lead to decreased efficiency. The pills should be taken separately in any order with food for optimal absorption.

9. If I’ve missed a tablet, what should I do?

First of all, you shouldn’t worry about it. Even if you’ve missed a tablet you’ve done much more for yourself than those who took a one-pill supplement. There are two ways of solving the issue. The approach that Compatible Nutraceuticals Inc. recommends is to start with the tablet you’ve missed and continue your normal regimen from that point forward. However, some people believe it to be crucial that they take 3 pills a day every day. As it was discussed in question # 8,“How critical is it to take three different pills of LUCID three times a day?”, if you want to take 3 pills at once, you can do so. However, you should be aware that you will negate many of the benefits of the LUCID approach. The efficiency of your vitamin and mineral supplementation will be significantly decreased (as in case of a one-pill multivitamin) and allergic reaction may occur among sensitive people. Compatible Nutraceuticals Inc. advocates a disciplined regimen and reminds you that you create your own success. We offer easy to understand step-by-step information in our product on our website.

10. How LUCID will benefit me if I have diabetes?

Human malnutrition is a serious problem of modern life. People living with diabetes have a much stronger need for supplementation for several reasons including food restrictions, metabolic disorders, and slow assimilation of micronutrients. The majority of people with diabetes lack B-group vitamins as well as antioxidants (vitamin A, vitamin C, and vitamin E) and minerals. Many of these people suffered from such a deficiency even before developing diabetes, which in turn worsened the problem. Chronic hyperglycemia leads to an increased number of free radicals and, as a result, oxidative stress. The best solution to this is to take supplements containing the antioxidants mentioned above, as well as selenium and alpha lipoic acid. Scientific research has proven that vitamin C is able to not only fight free radicals, but also decrease the level of insulin resistance. At the same time, adequate intake of selenium can lead to the decrease of blood sugar levels and protect a person from cataracts, early atherosclerosis, and degenerative changes in all body tissues. B vitamins also play a crucial role for people with diabetes mellitus. These vitamins maintain normal functioning of nerve cells and protect them from damage caused by diabetes. Manganese, magnesium, zinc, and chromium are the most important minerals. Zinc stimulates insulin production, while chromium is essential for people with type 2 diabetes, as it helps to decrease the manifestation of insulin resistance and the desire for sweet foods. LUCID TRIO diabetes is the first and only patent-pending compatible supplement in the USA suitable both for diabetes mellitus type 1 and type 2. It contains a wide spectrum of vitamins and minerals beneficial for people living with diabetes, as well as alpha lipoic and succinic acids, bilberry fruit extract, gymnema sylvestre leaf extract, dandelion and burdock root extracts, and inulin. As you have already learned, when incompatible vitamins and minerals are taken together, most of the benefit will be lost. That is why we put LUCID TRIO diabetes in 3 different color-coded pills in blisters. Taken properly, these will allow all the ingredients to be absorbed fully and properly, bringing you the maximum value and benefit.

11. What are the beneficial properties of the additional ingredients of LUCID TRIO diabetes?

Gymnema sylvestre leaf extract helps to support normal blood sugar levels and is very popular for its beneficial properties all over the world. Based on known sources, alpha lipoic acid has been widely used in the cure and prevention of diabetic neuropathy, a common complication of diabetes. Bilberry fruit extract improves blood circulation to the extremities. Burdock root extract affects carbohydrate metabolism, can lower blood sugar level even after a meal rich in carbohydrates, and keeps the blood sugar from dramatic increase. Dandelion root extract may also help regulate blood sugar levels. Succinic acid plays a major role in treating diabetic neuropathies; it improves glycemic control, especially among elderly patients with type 2 diabetes. And inulin, one of the ingredients of LUCID TRIO diabetes, is beneficial for patients with diabetes; moreover it works efficiently in cases of pre-diabetes and hypoglycemia and is helpful in weight management. Compatible Nutraceuticals Inc., strongly recommends that you see your healthcare practitioner prior to taking any supplement; please, always follow your doctor’s recommendations (including instructions for checking blood sugar levels).

12. Should I consider LUCID as a part of a daily regimen if I’m on a diet?

Most likely, you should. The majority of diets are not balanced enough to fit all the needs of your body. All-protein diets lead to increased demand for the vitamins that form a B-vitamin group (such as vitamin B2, vitamin B6, and vitamin B12). High carbohydrate diets increase the need for vitamins C, B1, and B6. Moreover, in case of protein insufficiency, vitamins A, B2, B3 and C won’t be able to assimilate properly. Fat-soluble vitamin deficiency (vitamins A, D, E, and K) is common among dieters who do not consume fat. Even the most conscientious American eater does not consistently meet the dietary guidelines jointly issued and updated by the Departments of Agriculture and Health and Human Services at http://www.mypyramid.gov/ and http://www.cnpp.usda.gov/dietaryguidelines.htm). That is why at Compatible Nutraceuticals Inc., we believe it is very important to choose the right supplement to replenish your undermined reserves. LUCID is the first line of compatible nutritional supplements that offer patented scientific approach to interactions between vitamins and minerals. Every LUCID product has all the necessary vitamins, minerals, and other natural beneficial ingredients. Choose the appropriate LUCID for yourself and your family members based on personal needs, age, and special health conditions. Please note that it is very important that you contact your healthcare practitioner prior to starting a supplement regimen. Compatible Nutraceuticals Inc. has several new products in development. One of them will be designed exclusively for dieters and will include essential vitamins and minerals, L-carnitine, green tea extract, and many more potent ingredients. We promise you that LUCID for dieters will be as exciting and as revolutionary as our first line of LUCID products. With your support Compatible Nutraceuticals Inc. will be able to present it in the near future.

13. Why do you sell LUCID TRIO in blisters?

We sell LUCID in blisters for your comfort, safety and convenience. We’ve made the supplements portable; you don’t have to carry a bottle that makes rattling sounds any more. The blisters are transparent and each pill is color-coded (three different colors) to help you maintain the sequence – you always know which tablets you have already taken and which ones are left. Blister technology is the best protection from natural elements like humidity, as well as the contamination that can happen when you accidentally shake out more vitamins than needed and then have to return the unwanted tablets to the bottle. And finally, LUCID blisters are very fashionable…at least we think so.

14. How can I track the results? How long does it take to see them?

You can easily track the effects of your supplement consumption by undergoing a blood or hair test for the presence of vitamins and minerals in your body. Compatible Nutraceuticals Inc. believes this to be the most reliable scientific way. Individual results vary based on your lifestyle, habits, and overall health. In order to bring about positive changes, you should adhere to strict LUCID regimen and maintain a healthy lifestyle.

15. Can I combine LUCID with other supplements I take?

Compatible Nutraceuticals Inc. strongly recommends that you see your healthcare practitioner prior to taking any supplement.Only your doctor will be able to give you a reliable advice in this area, no matter what kind of supplements you are currently taking (multivitamin or mineral complex, herbal or mushroom supplements). The main advantage of all LUCID products is compatibility. If any additional single vitamin or mineral is recommended to you by you doctor, it can be easily combined with LUCID. Let’s say your doctor recommends that you should take additional calcium and vitamin D3. You should just take the extra calcium and vitamin D3 at the same time as the LUCID tablet that has the same ingredients. Or, if your doctor suggests that you take additional magnesium, you should take it with a LUCID pill that contains magnesium inside. This will allow you to avoid any negative interactions and maintain absolute compatibility. The same approach should be used for any vitamins and minerals recommended by your doctor. Taking a multivitamin/mineral pill in addition to LUCID will lead to incompatibility (negative interactions between the ingredients), which will significantly decrease the effectiveness of your supplementation and could trigger allergic reactions. Moreover, we want to draw your attention to another problem: exceeding Recommended Daily Values. Many Americans consume enormously high doses of vitamins and minerals every day (sometimes up to 25,000% of Recommended Daily Values or more), which is not only a waste of money but can actually put their health at risk. In case of most water-soluble vitamins, the kidneys will have to work hard to excrete the excess amounts with urine (most likely orange and bad-smelling). With fat-soluble vitamins, the excess amounts will be stored in the body tissues and can cause a range of diseases and problems in the future. All LUCID products have only compatible vitamins and minerals in each pill. We do not exceed Daily Values as there is no benefit in that. Compatibility allows all the components of each pill to work in harmony and synergy, bringing you the maximum value. With LUCID, vitamins and minerals don’t have to “fight” for absorption and can get to work right from the start.

16. How does alcohol abuse influence the amount of minerals and vitamins in my body?

Excessive alcohol consumption leads to vitamin and mineral deficiency. It results in a shortage of vitamins of a B-group, antioxidants (vitamins A, C, and E), and many others due to deterioration of the metabolism and inability to absorb the majority of essential nutrients. This is why it is very important to constantly replenish and maintain adequate levels of vitamins and minerals in the body in conjunction with a healthy lifestyle.

17. Can I take products by Compatible Nutraceuticals Inc., if I am also taking prescription medications?

Some prescription medications can interfere with the ingredients of LUCID. This is one more reason that Compatible Nutraceuticals Inc. strongly recommends that you to contact a health care professional before starting a supplement regimen. Any information on our website, box, or pamphlets is not intended to be used as an alternative to consulting with a health care professional or other qualified professional. WARNING! All LUCID products contain vitamin K, which interferes with the prescription drugs Coumadin and Warfarin. DO NOT take any LUCID products if taking either of these drugs.

18. My health care practitioner suggests that I take an increased volume of calcium and vitamin D3 due to a medical condition. Should I refer to the LUCID interaction chart and take them together with the LUCID tablet that has calcium and D3 to avoid negative interactions?

You should always follow your medical doctor’s advice. If you need extra supplementation with particular single vitamins or minerals, this can easily be combined with LUCID – just take your extra calcium and vitamin D3 with a LUCID tablet that has the same ingredients. Or if you are advised to take additional amounts of magnesium, you should take it with a LUCID pill that contains magnesium. This approach will help you avoid negative interactions and gain absolute compatibility, and should be used for all vitamins and minerals. If you hesitate to make a decision, please, consult the Science section of our website, which has lots of useful information including the compatibility chart and guides.

19. You use Daily Values (DVs) as guidelines. Does it mean that LUCID has lower potencies than conventional supplements?

No, LUCID doesn’t have lower potencies than conventional supplements. Milligrams and micrograms do not measure potency, only the weight of the ingredients. There are a number of conflicting opinions on this subject. Many people believe that the more the better, what is absolutely wrong. Let’s say, if you have eaten 25 steaks for lunch, it doesn’t mean you’ve done the best for your health. The same thing is with the vitamins and minerals: there is a right dosage for everything, and excess amounts above that are at best useless and at worst harmful. All LUCID products contain only compatible vitamins and minerals in each pill. We do not exceed Daily Values as we believe that there is no benefit to that when the nutrients your body needs are being supplied in the appropriate (compatible) way. Compatibility allows all the components in each pill to work in harmony and synergy, bringing you the maximum value.

20. What is the reason behind using calcium citrate instead of calcium carbonate in your formulas? Are the forms of minerals you use in LUCID more bioavailable?

Compatible Nutraceuticals Inc. is built on the concept of bringing the best to our customers. We use the most bioavailable forms of the ingredients in each LUCID pill. All of the ingredients are pharmaceutical-grade, which means that they follow the established guidelines for purity and bioavailability. This is the main reason we use calcium citrate instead of calcium carbonate in LUCID formulas. We offer an unsurpassed level of absorption and you don’t have to pay for the useless powder anymore.

21. Are Compatible Nutraceuticals Inc., products gluten-free?

Yes. All LUCID products are gluten-free.

22. Do any of your products contain dairy?

Always consult with your doctor prior to taking any vitamin or mineral supplement.
